On 17th March 2016, the general assembly of the Luxembourg chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Luxembourg*) elected Norman Finster, Chief Internal Auditor of Nordea Bank S.A., as President for a term of 2 years.
He succeeds Thierry Thouvenot, Chief Internal Auditor of KBL European Private Bankers S.A., who´s mandate expired after his second term.
“I feel very honoured given the confidence by the Board and our members,” says Norman. “Thierry over his 4 years as Chairman had laid a strong foundation to build on, and I would like to thank him for his contributions. However, this does not mean that we can rest on our laurels. Internal Auditing is one of the most dynamic and demanded professions to be in. As the 3rd line of defence in a corporate organisation high performing internal audit functions are also key for protecting the reputation of the Luxembourg corporate landscape.
“I would very much like to thank Nordea for supporting me in this role, which not only showcases our engagement in the Luxembourg community, but also advocacy for strong corporate governance.
“Nordea was proud to host the event in its premises, which saw very strong interest with around 100 members of the IIA Luxembourg attending.”
*IIA Luxembourg is the local chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the driving force in Internal Audit related research and the promoter of the Code of Ethics and the Norms guiding the profession. As of today, IIA Luxembourg counts around 550 members employed by some 100 Luxembourg based corporations of all economic sectors.
